Up There

I came across this fantastic short film documenting the experience of a street painter.  As we forge farther into the depths of digital life, we often overlook the people who still use traditional mediums to express their art.  I found this to be very inspiring and also very cool.

The Art of Interpretation

Interpretation or perception, I’m not really sure which one is correct.  I am currently exploring employment options outside of Rein Media for the first time in six years.  It’s been a great run, but I feel like I have hit a ceiling and the company has run its course.  I’ve met with a couple people and I have updated my resume to include my latest clients, but I’m also torn about how to present myself.

I should clarify, I understand MY Brand, I just don’t know the best approach for delivering it.  I had someone suggest that I might want to take “Owner, Principal” off my resume and replace it with “Creative Director”.  Since a Creative Director position is most likely where I’d land if I made a move, it makes sense.  The reasoning behind it is that certain companies might be standoffish about hiring someone who was an “Owner” because they won’t be able to take direction.  We’ll, let me tell you…I make a pretty good Cheif, but I’ve got a lot of Indian in me too!

I want to make sure that my entire skill set is represented.  I’ve done the business side, creative side, production, you name it.  Ultimately, I want to be a leader and contributer for a company that can utilize my knowledge and skills, yet still push me creatively.

So that’s where I am.  I’m still cranking away with Rein Media, but if you hear of any positions for a super-talented-brand-consultant-creative-art-director, then please let me know!
