The Blogosphere

I’ve been thinking about the term “Blogosphere” and it’s comparative relevance with our own universe.  The Blogosphere is a collective term encompassing all blogs and their interconnections.  There are millions of bloggers out there, many of which I will never have contact with.  We all share a commonality in the fact we are helping to grow the Blogosphere each day.

I was watching a special about the Hubble Space Telescope on the Discover Channel a couple nights ago and it got me thinking about the size and expanse of our universe.

This is a picture of the Hubble Ultra Deep Field.  The Hubble Space Telescope focused on a single point for roughly three months.  This allowed for vast amounts of light to be absorbed and recorded.  What scientists found were millions of galaxies each containing billions of stars.  This is one patch of sky were talking about.  How can you comprehend numbers like these?  You can’t.

All you can do is make a relative connection between something you understand and can grasp conceptually.  Enter the Blogosphere.  A network of blogs and interconnections that is rapidly expanding in every direction with infinite room to grow.  Just like the galaxies in our universe, I will not be able to discover every blog in my lifetime, but perhaps others will.

I sit in awe thinking of how big this world is, and how small we are too.
