Go With Your Gut
I validated a theory this weekend that I don’t always adhere to. Go with your gut! During last week’s fantasy football draft, I had the choice of drafting Tom Brady or Randy Moss. All the mock drafts I had seen had them going in the first six picks. When the seventh pick came around, both players were still available, but something deep inside said DON’T DO IT! Thankfully I listened and went with Frank Gore instead.

Instead of losing my first-round pick in game one, I’m now 1-0 thanks to Frank Gore having a huge game. I know it’s early in the season, but The Breeder’s Cup had a good week. The invaluable lesson here is always go with your gut and your instinct because more than likely you will be right.
Great Weekend!

Sunday's on the Pier
With the seventh pick of the draft, The Breeder’s Cup selects…Frank Gore, San Francisco 49ers.
It’s that time again, fantasy football season is upon us. Our league name is “Sunday’s on the Pier”. This was the chosen name because that’s where all the coaches in our league congregate to watch football on Sunday’s. It’s a great group of people in our league and everyone is fiercely competitive, which makes for some great message board trash-talking.
I have had great success in the league over the last five years, including winning the entire thing last year. We had our draft last night and I picked in the seventh spot and feel pretty good about my selections. Here’s my ‘08-09 squad:
Jon Kitna QB
Eli Manning QB
Kevin Jones RB
Thomas Jones RB
Sammy Morris RB
Ladell Betts RB
Frank Gore RB
Laurence Maroney RB
Dwayne Bowe WR
Roddy White WR
Joey Galloway WR
Terrell Owens WR
Tony Gonzalez TE
Zach Miller TE
Robbie Gould K
Chicago Bears DEF
