Site Updates

I’ve finally finished designing my new site.  Now comes the fun part…  finding time to build it!

That’s a project that I’ll eventually get around too.  I figure since I’m starting a new age group next week, the 30’s, I should update my “brand” as well.

Since I realize this takes a back-burner to current projects I have going on at work, I at least was able to update the homepage with my Twitter feed, and throw up some new projects.  In fact, I added just over 10 new sites that I’ve put up in the last couple of months.  I guess that’s why I haven’t posted much on the blog.

Either way, I’m looking forward to eventually getting the new site up and *hopefully* getting back to blogging more.  Although, I must say that Twitter has really made my blogs less of a necessity.  Most people don’t want to hear anymore than 140 characters from me anyway!

An Open Letter to Twitter

Dear Twitter,

Why have you been sucking so much lately?  I understand you have no business model or way to make money, but I’m tired of the whale and all the removed features.  I’m glad people are catching on to Twitter (kind of) but not at the sacrifice of what I’ve been used to.

Sincerely,

Lindsey

Chimpin' Ain't Easy…

Our house closes next week.  More on that later…

I’ve been seeing this explosion over the last couple months on Twitter.  People are really starting to grasp the concept and it’s beginning to scale and grow.  I’ve been spending a lot of time on Twitter and Facebook lately, but right now I have two main obsessions.

#1 – TweetDeck.  This thing is just plain awesome.  It’s a desktop app that uses AdobeAir to display all kinds of fun info from Twitter and Facebook.  The nice thing about it is that you can just leave it open and have all you Tweeps Tweets and your friends status updates off Facebook.  It also has the ability to have TwitScoop and 12seconds going as well.  BTW, I’m not cussing at you…  These are real things!

Tweet Deck v0.24.2b with Facebook integration.

#2 – Chi.mp.  I was an early adopter of Chi.mp after seeing a presentation on it at Web 2.0 Expo in NY.  It was a fantastic concept, one location for all of you networks.  At first, it was a little sluggish and rough around the edges, but now it’s amazing!  Not only does it serve as an OpenID, it also houses all of the information from the various social networks and displays your latest information.  You will also find fun stuff like Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools built in for you to play with.  You can check out my site at http://lindsey.mp.  That’s some good real estate right there if you ask me.
