A Great Honor
As you know, my friend Reid is playing volleyball overseas in Russia. He was just inducted into the Loyola Marymount University Hall of Fame last weekend and he asked me to attend and accept on his behalf. It was a great honor and extremely humbling to represent Reid and I’m truly thankful for the opportunity.
It was a little disappointing that the Athletic Director, Bill Husak, didn’t show face since he’s the one that dropped our men’s volleyball program. I don’t expect much from him anyway, I mean look what he’s done with the athletic department since he’s been there. I mean, men’s basketball is 2-23 this year…

It was a little awkward, but totally awesome!
How to Build a Personal Brand
For those who are immersed in the volleyball world, then you would probably know the name Danny Kinda. If you’re not familiar with Danny Kinda, then let me shed some light onto where “Kinda Good” came from.
Danny Kinda is the alter ego of Dan Madden who is a volleyball player from New Jersey. It all started with a simple You Tube video featuring Danny Kinda’s recruiting video that became an instant sensation in the volleyball community. From there he has developed a huge online presence with videos, apparel, blogs, contests, even forming a 6-man team that won the tournament this year.
Dan also happens to be a designer and brand entrepreneur. Check out Kinda Good and watch the video that started it all.

Hall of Fame
This past weekend I had the pleasure of escorting my beautiful wife up to Reno to watch her be inducted into the UNR Hall of Fame. She is the first women’s volleyball player ever to be inducted into the Hall of Fame which makes it even more special. She was a little concerned about having to give a speech up in front of everybody, but she nailed it. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Nice platform Tiff! Ha!

The whole family made the journey to Reno.

The entire group was also honored at the half time ceremony of the UNR homecoming football game against Utah State. UNR won the game 44-17.
